Safety is not an afterthought here — it is built into the product from the very first step. Verified members carry a blue badge, your contact details stay private until you choose to share them, and anything suspicious is one tap from our team.
How verification works
How the Verified badge works
Members on Plus and Premium can verify their identity and earn the Verified badge. Members who haven't are clearly labeled Unverified. Here is exactly what verification involves.
1. Government ID
We accept a government-issued national ID card, passport, or driver's licence from any country. Verification happens through Stripe's secure identity platform — your document photo and selfie are never stored on TrivianKnot's own servers or shared with other members.
2. Live selfie
Your selfie is captured through your device camera in the moment, not chosen from your gallery. This means it is fresh, current, and much harder to fake with someone else's photo.
3. Automatic verification
Stripe Identity compares your ID and selfie automatically — usually approved within minutes. If it can't confirm something on its own, a member of our team reviews it by hand before the badge is shown.
4. Privacy by default
By default your photos appear only after an interest between you is accepted, and you can choose to approve each request yourself instead. Messaging only opens once you've both accepted interest, and on the Free plan phone numbers, emails, and social handles are automatically hidden from messages and profiles.
Verification helps. Good judgement still matters.
A Verified badge means the member completed our identity verification process. It does not mean TrivianKnot has verified every claim on the profile. Take your time, keep early conversations on-platform where possible, protect financial information and report anything that feels suspicious.

A few friendly tips
Verification makes it much harder for bad actors to get in, but these habits help keep any online experience positive.
Take your time. A genuine person will never rush you into making decisions or sharing personal details.
Meet somewhere comfortable. For early meetings, choose a public place and let a friend or family member know where you are going.
Keep money out of it. Never send money, gift cards, or financial details to someone you have not met in person, no matter how well you feel you know them.
Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it is okay to step back. Your comfort matters.
Reporting a concern
Every profile page has a Report and Block option. Reports go straight to our moderation team, who review them promptly. We take every report seriously and follow up when needed — you are never alone in this.
