Safety Center
At TrivianKnot, safety is not an afterthought. It is built into the product from the very first step. We want this to be a place where you can open up, explore, and connect with confidence, knowing that the person on the other side is exactly who they say they are.
How verification works
Every member goes through three layers of verification before their profile is visible to anyone else. Here is what that looks like.
1. Government ID
We accept a Sri Lankan National Identity Card (NIC), Passport, or Driver's Licence. You photograph your document during onboarding, and it stays securely stored and never shared with other members.
2. Live selfie
Your selfie is captured through your device camera in the moment, not chosen from your gallery. This means it is fresh, current, and much harder to fake with someone else's photo.
3. Human review
A member of our team personally compares your ID and selfie side by side before approving your profile. We use some automated pre-checks to help prioritise our queue, but the final decision is always made by a person, not an algorithm.
4. Mutual interest gating
Your photos and contact details are only revealed to someone once you have both shown interest in each other. Nobody can browse your full profile without your knowledge, and messaging only opens after verification on both sides.
A few friendly tips
Our verification makes it much harder for bad actors to get in, but here are a few habits that help keep any online experience positive.
- Take your time. A genuine person will never rush you into making decisions or sharing personal details.
- Meet somewhere comfortable. For early meetings, choose a public place and let a friend or family member know where you are going.
- Keep money out of it. Never send money, gift cards, or financial details to someone you have not met in person, no matter how well you feel you know them.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it is okay to step back. Your comfort matters.
Reporting a concern
Every profile page has a Report and Block option. Reports go straight to our moderation team, who review them promptly. We take every report seriously and follow up when needed. You are never alone in this.
